The shipyard "Swan Hunter" in Newcastle came to live
again after the take over of a dutch group of investors some years
ago. A tender for the british Navy two years ago was won on basis
of the concept, design and price for the production of large transport
vessels. The patent of these ships was taken over of the dutch warff
"de Schelde" who build a similar vessel, the HMS
Rotterdam" for the dutch Navy earlier. Two vessels will be
build in Newcastle and two others in Scotland. To create new dry
docks, large enough to build the vessels a large combi wall was
the most economic and strong alternative.
